Santa Ysabel Botanical Facility

The Iipay Nation Tribe of Santa Ysabel closed the doors to its casino in 2014 and transformed the property into a sophisticated and successful cannabis operation. The Tribe is currently leasing portions of the property to diverse operators whom specialize in manufacturing holistic medicinal products and operate the cannabis cultivation sites.

First San Diego County Tribal Cannabis

The Iipay Nation was the first in San Diego County to embrace the tribal cannabis and marijuana industry in December 2014. This was made possible by the Cole Wilkinson Memorandum issued by the U.S. Justice Department declaring sovereign nations would not be prosecuted for developing responsible cannabis and marijuana operations on tribal lands in states that had already legalized the drug. The eight-memorandum priorities specified was what the Tribe followed to establish the regulatory infrastructure and stringent oversight needed to be in compliance with the Federal Government. Currently, the Tribe’s corporate division, the Tribal Development Corporation, operates the Mountain Source Dispensary working toward a successful future for the members of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel.

Regulated and Licensed Tribal Cannabis

Currently, the Santa Ysabel Botanical Facility is a federally sovereign and tribally owned cannabis enterprise which has declined to waive any sovereign immunity. We pride ourselves in operating the most regulated licensed tribal cannabis operation in existence. The State of California’s Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC) has granted state cannabis licenses to four (4) of the Botanical Facility’s six (6) operators. All operators are held to the highest degree of standards in the day to day operations centered on the rules and regulations enforced 24 hours a day.
